You probably don’t know what I did before I became a florist! I was a social worker in DC. I worked directly with families transitioning out of homelessness. I absolutely loved my job. It molded me and formed me in to the woman I am today. I can’t even begin to tell you all the things I learned and am better for. I found ways here and there to release my creative spirit. I designed flowers for events and friends on the side. Then, once I decided to quit my job as a social worker to be home with my baby, I found such joy in the opportunity to create freely again. So, I launched Amy Lauren Floral Design and the rest is history! (Talk about a drastic career change) Although, not as different as you might think.
My clients in both fields just want to be heard. They want someone to hear their vision and help them get there. They want freedom to choose. They want a voice. They want to be delighted and joyful. I love helping people feel joy! I can’t get enough of it.
Friend, I challenge you today…find joy in something. Anything.
A cup of coffee by a warm window.
Holding hands with your love.
The perfect aroma of a garden rose.
Whatever it is, soak it up. Life is good.
