So often I have brides…and grooms, ask for help selecting colors for their wedding flowers! There are so many gorgeous floral colors to choose from. Hopefully these tips help!
Choose color(s) you love. Something that’s always been a favorite. Your go-to, never fail, always classic color. If you had all the cupcakes to choose from, which color frosting would you gravitate towards?! For me, blue. Every single time. So, I absolutely go wild for blue flowers. Duh.
Be inspired by the season. I don’t mean red and green for December and orange and yellow for Fall. I mean, what’s around? What’s blooming naturally around the time of your wedding. What colors do you see in fashion, in food, in nature? Pick something that meshes well with those palettes.
Try something at least slightly interesting! Don’t get me wrong, I love classic elegance. Something about white and blush always speaks such beauty at a wedding. But, I like to challenge couples to add some complimentary color. You really won’t regret it! Make your wedding flowers something interesting to look at. Whether you add a splash of purple in with soft pinks and white, or a deep burgundy with some peach tones. Ask your floral designer for suggestions!
Throw the rules out the window! Ultimately, your wedding flowers are an artistic expression of yourself! If you live life on the wild side, go with a wild look! If you appreciate soft elegance, pick something that reflects that.
Trust your designer! They’ve been doing this much longer than you have. Also, there’s something special about letting an artist understand what you want them to create, receiving their suggestions, and allowing them to do their thing!
